What I've been up to...

I feel like I've been in a bit of a whirlwind lately and although I've been baking a fair bit I haven't taken the time to post the results here for all to see.

So where do we begin? I may have treat myself to a set of silicone tea cups and saucers by Fred just before the jubilee for some tea party fun... Available from Amazon

Rose flavour with vanilla and strawberry frosting topped with white chocolate crown.
Next up were the loosely tattoo themed cupcakes i took to thank my tattooist for fixing the flamingo travesty that was my arm (don't get tattoo'd while slightly under the influence in Turkey, people)

Top Gun glittery red tattoo heart and a few practice flowers.
But doesn't the tattoo look much better now....?

Also, check out these cupcakes I made to look like popcorn. Perfect for a movie themed party, or just for muching in front of the tellybox.

Next up is this fiesta of a 1st wedding anniversary cake for a lovely lady to her dashing Spanish husband

Embarassingly forgot to wipe the side down before taking the snap! Sprinkles anyone....?

Some other great cupcake commisions below, all of them were lots of fun to do and went down a treat!

Mickey Mouse cakes for a 1st birthday party!
Vanilla Chelsea FC cupcakes
Cheery cherry bakwells!
Carrot cakes in pretty petal cases

Here are some larger cakes I've had the pleasure of knocking up too:

Pearly anniversary cake

A chocolate feast for my Daddy's birthday

Gift wrapped birthday cake!

All in a days work...

So today I spent most of my time in my windowless kitchen. Worth it though. A Birthday cake and a Eurovision cake.

What do you think?

Next week: camouflage cupcakes for someone joining the army!

A Bird in the Hand Bakery...

It's finally happened. After much deliberation I have decided to begin selling my cupcakes.
After having my first corporate customer last month I figured it would be just plain rude to deprive people of my wares any longer.

Whatever the occasion, I can create something for you in a multitude of flavours in colour schemes to suit your needs.

Take a look around the blog which is acting as my temporary website and feel free to email me any queries to contact@abirdinthehandbakery.co.uk

Thanks!
